The sugaring paste is 100% natural, hypoallergenic, non-comeodogenic, and not tested on animals. The sugar paste does not stick to live skin cells and only gently exfoliates the dead skin. Sugaring treatments are economical because most clients see thinner, finer hair and improved skin conditions after just a few sessions. The sugar paste is 100% water-soluble so it can be easily washed off. The luke warm sugar paste is molded onto the skin in the opposite direction of hair growth, and pulled off in the same direction of hair growth which results in complete extraction of the hair. This means no breakage and no burned skin!
The sugar paste is 100% hygienic! There’s no risk of double dipping because the practicioner never has to go back into the jar of sugar. All of the sugar that is needed for a service is grabbed at one time, then discarded after each client. Plus the high concentration of sugar makes it so bacteria can’t breed in it. Sugaring is successful on all skin types, skin colors, hair types and textures, genders, and ages. Sugaring is the only form of hair removal that is literally for everyone.
For most areas of the body, including brazilian, the length of hair should be about the length of a grain of rice. This is about 7 to 10 days of hair growth from the last time you shaved, or about 2 to 3 weeks from your last wax. For legs, the hair needs a minimum of 2 weeks of growth from your last shave or 4 weeks from your last wax. For the underarms and face, a minimum of 5 days of hair growth is needed from your last shave or 2 weeks from your last wax.
Definitely! Being on your period doesn’t affect the sugaring process but be aware that the skin can be more sensitive around this time of month.
Absolutely! Since the sugar is all natural, there are no risks to pregnant women.
You will get anywhere from a 1 ½ to 3 weeks with no hair growth but you won't have to return for another appointment for 3 to 6 weeks. It can vary depending on the strength of your hair growth but with regular sugaring sessions you will be able to push your appointments out farther.
It sure can! If your goal is to achieve less hair, it is recommended to keep regular appointments 3 to 6 weeks apart.
The sugar paste used is all natural and doesn’t contain any chemicals or resins like wax so it is safe for sensitive skin. The sugar paste only gently removes dead skin whereas wax can pull off live skin leaving you with raw skin. The sugar paste also doesn’t have to be hot so there’s no risk of burning! Lastly, the sugar is applied in the opposite direction of hair growth then pulled off in the same direction so this minimizes breakage, ingrown hairs, and pain!
A brazilian includes all the hair on the front and in between the cheeks. If you want to leave a strip, triangle, or skip the back side, just let your esthetician know. You can also include the stomach or butt cheeks for an extra charge.
It can be painful unfortunately but it is gentler on the skin in comparison to wax or laser hair removal. It becomes less painful overtime especially when you schedule your appointments within 6 weeks of your last service. Taking an ibuprofen 20 minutes prior to your service will help and you can purchase a numbing spray from your local drug store. It must be a spray because the creams are too thick for the sugar to stick to the skin.
Keeping your skin exfoliated and hydrated is very important. However, do not exfoliate or use lotion/creams the day before. Make sure to grow your hair out to the proper length and avoid sun-tanning and working out for 24 hours prior to a treatment.
Your skin may be sensitive so for the next 24 hours you should plan to avoid tight clothes, exfoliating, any skin care products not recommended by your esthetician, working out, hot tubs, pools, baths, and any activity that may cause sweating or friction on the area that was sugared. After the 24 hour period it is very important to keep the skin hydrated, and exfoliated with products recommended by your esthetician. Exfoliation should be performed 2 to 3 times a week in between sugaring appointments.
It’s not recommended because you will have to wait longer before you can come in for your next appointment. This will cause your next appointment to be more painful and delay the permanent hair loss process.
Unfortunately sugaring cannot be performed on anyone who has used accutane in the last year, and cannot be performed on any areas that you have used topical retin-a or retinol on in the last 3 weeks. You should also wait 2 to 4 weeks if you’ve had any professional exfoliating treatments such as chemical peels or microdermabrasion on the area you want sugared.
